Obituary for Norma R Talbot

 

Norma R. Talbot, 93, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on April 22, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Virdie Paul and Roberta Zeringue on August 1, 1929.

She loved her horse Fancy, and was an avid rider for 30 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Daughters of the Nile. Norma was a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House charities- NWFL and a charter member of Wallace Houston Eastern Star in El Paso, Texas and enjoyed playing Chess with her son-in-law Mack and loved her monthly Bunco game night. She loved hearing her grandchildren and great grandchildren call her “GG.” She was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan since their first game in 1960.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George R. Talbot; parents, Virdie Paul & Roberta Zeringue; sister, Elizabeth Ballard; granddaughter, Megan E. Talbot; daughter-in-law, Julia Close. She is survived by her sons, Edward (Gwen) Talbot, and David Talbot; daughter, Paula (Mack) Walker; sister, Joy (Bobby) Marble; grandchildren, Deirdre, Nicole, Sarah, Christina, Victoria, Tiffany, Jimmy, Jamie, Walter and Dannielle; great grandchildren, Quillan, Thomas, Gabriel, Annabelle, Charlie and Jeff.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, May 1, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South (100 Beverly Pkwy., Pensacola, Florida 32505). Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:30am at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will include Publio Casillas, Sean Barrington, Kevin Barrington, Leo Trisollini, Jimmy Talbot, Dale Walker, and Dan Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will include Dave Metzger, Jimmy Walker, and Jerry Walker. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RMHC-NWFL and/or Hadji Shrine Temple Pensacola Transportation Fund. Norma’s last request was for her friends and family to show up supporting “her boys” by wearing Dallas Cowboy Jerseys or colors.
